Sarah Nell & Cole: Engaged at Isle of Palms Beach

Cole’s family grew up visiting his grandparents’ beach house in Isle of Palms (just outside of Charleston), and over the years, the beach town became more and more special to his family (and thus Sarah Nell as their relationship grew). I love that they chose this spot for their engagement photos because you could just tell how comfortable and happy they were to be there.

At the beginning of our session, I told Sarah Nell and Cole to focus on each other rather than the camera in front of them. I wanted it to feel like an organic conversation between them (plus me as their third wheel!!). And the result? The photos look like THEM. It captures the energy and the looks and the adoration that had for each other—their honest, genuine LOVE. It’s in the organic interactions where personalities come through and the real magic happens.

My hope is that through these types of photos, you can look back in ten years and re-experience that giddy, naive love that was felt during such a fun, new season. As love grows and deepens over the years (and even when it becomes a bit mundane), I know it will be so sweet to look back at this time and reminisce on what that crazy exciting season was like.

Cannot wait for these two to finally get married next year!!
