Katherine & Josh: A Late Summer Wedding at Old Edwards Inn

Highlands is a small sleepy town tucked away in the mountains of North Carolina. Whereas the rest of the South is brutally hot in late summer, this area of North Carolina feels like an oasis, though nestled a mere 2 hours away from Atlanta. I have the privilege of shooting up here often, and I never get tired of its beautiful terrain, lush colors, and low temperatures.

Katherine and John married on August 7th at The Farm at Old Edwards Inn. It was perfectly drizzly all day (as it often is on summer days in the mountains) but by the time the ceremony was over and the outdoor cocktail hour began, the sun made its appearance. You can imagine the fresh rain drops on the petals and cool breeze throughout the garden and it felt like it was teeming with life after the rain.

Not only was the day beautiful, but witnessing Katherine and Josh’s pure joy and love for each other (and their friends!!) at moments, left me speechless. I felt like we were transported to a different world for the day, where time stood still and we were able to soak in every detail and emotion of the day celebrating these two. Capturing Katherine and Josh’s relationship came naturally and comfortably—I’d relive this day over and over if I could!
